Abhijeet is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics. He is an applied microeconomist and studies topics relating to the economics of education, child nutrition and public service delivery in developing countries.

Abhijeet is affiliated with the Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL), CESifo Economics of Education Research Network in Munich, the Center for Global Development, the Mistra Centre for Sustainable Markets (MISUM) at SSE and the Young Lives study. He was a Principal Investigator for the Research on Improving Systems of Education program (India) and serves on the academic leadership team of the What Works Hub for Global Education.

He received his doctorate in Economics from the University of Oxford, and a B.A. (Hons) in Economics from the University of Delhi.
