Chila is a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at Binghamton University. Her research interests include Development Economics, Environmental Economics, and Behavioral Economics. Her work focuses on the social and environmental injustices caused by policies that affect minorities, women, and the poor. In recent work, she studies how the policy that required tanneries or leather manufacturers to treat their effluent affected the downstream farmer's productivity in India. Before her Ph.D., Chila worked at the Asian Development Bank and for the Philippine government.
