Neeraj is currently a Ph.D. scholar in the economics department at the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.

His research interest is in developmental economics with a special focus on issues related to education, gender, health, and labor. His work focuses on understanding the causes and consequences of human capital formation (for instance, with education and health), especially in the context of fast-growing
developing countries. All his current working papers and projects are aligned with these critical areas where he is empirically analyzing the impact of various policies adopted by the government.
