Monica is a Ph.D. candidate in applied economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research interest is primarily development economics, the economics of education, and school choice. In her recent work, she is studying how an educational affirmative action policy in India impacts children's outcomes and parental investments in children. She is also interested in understanding the welfare implications of school choice algorithms. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending her time playing the ukulele, and singing.
