I am a Ph.D. Student of Economics at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, one of the Premier institutes of India. I nurture a keen research interest in the field of Health and Development Economics, Migration Studies, and Gender studies. I am currently working on the impact of migration on health and education outcomes in the Indian context. Resilience, tenacity, and a go-getter attitude are some of the qualities I practice. My passion for teaching and research makes me a good fit for a career in academia. Outside of the office, reading, writing, and enjoying nature are some of my hobbies.

My research interests are development, labor, and health economics with an emphasis on the role of culture. My current research examines the consequences of cultural norms specifically for gender outcomes related to education and fertility. I also do some work on agricultural policy and
environmental pollution.

Raisa Gomez-Lowe is a PhD candidate in economics at Clark University. She specializes in applied econometrics and development economics. Her research interests are focused on evaluating the impact of public policy on the wellbeing and educational outcomes of individuals in developing countries. In Raisa’s dissertation she studies the impact of universal secondary education on educational outcomes and the effects of unconditional cash transfers on human capital in developing countries. Raisa earned an MA in economics from Clark University and an MS in economics and a BS in economics & management studies from The University of the West Indies

I'm a fourth year PhD student in the Applied Economics Program at the University of Minnesota. I also work at State Health Access Data Assistance Center (SHADAC), which is a part of the Health Policy and Management Division of the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota.

My research interests fall within the intersection of agricultural economics, demographic economics, and rural economics. I have been working on research related to farm succession, rural migration, and rural mortality in the U.S. agricultural sector.

I received my Bachelor and Master degrees in Agricultural Economics at the National Taiwan University. I was born and raised in Pingtung, a rural county in the Southernmost of Taiwan.

I am a fourth-year econ Ph.D. candidate from George Washington University. I have taken field courses in labor, education, development, and behavioral economics. I have experience with field experiments (as a Research Associate based in India). Currently, I am working on a paper that explores the effect of gender-caste student-teacher matching on student social-emotional learning outcomes. I am interested in applied microeconomics topics related to education policy, migration, social norms, and human behavior.

Hamida Mubasshera is a 4th-year graduate student of Economics at Temple University and mother of a toddler. Originally from Bangladesh, Hamida's research interest includes applied microeconomics with a specific interest in labor economics, health economics, and economics of crime. In her 3rd year paper, she explored the association between phonography usage during adolescence and risky sexual behavior. She has many other exciting research ideas related to the broad literature on the sex market, the economics of privacy, and digital economics. She hopes that the AMIE mentoring program will help her to grow as a researcher

I am a Bsc and Msc holder of Agricultural Economics and Resource Management from Moi University. Currently doing my PhD in Agricultural Economics and Resource Management. My thesis is entitled “Determinants of Household Food Security in Kenya: An Engendered and Agricultural Commercialization Perspectives”. I am a part-time lecturer at Moi University and at University of Eldoret. I have received a research grant on Tobacco Control by IDRC. I have also presented papers both virtual and physical conferences. I did my internship at International Institute for Legislative Affairs. I have trained and supervised enumerators on data collection. I, also design questionnaire forms using; ODK, Kobo toolbox, SurveyCTO, and most importantly I am proficient with STATA software.

I am a third year PhD student at Kellogg School of Management. My research interest is in Environmental and Energy Economics, with a focus on developing countries. Currently, I am studying the impacts of agricultural electricity tariffs on downstream outcomes in India. Prior to joining Kellogg, I was a management consultant at KPMG India, and have worked extensively in the Indian Power Sector

Jiee is a Ph.D. candidate in the economics department at Texas A&M University. Her research interests spread to education economics, environmental economics, crime economics, and health economics. Much of her research bridges interest in the long-term effects of public policy on educational and labor market outcomes, emphasizing the differential impacts on outcomes between disadvantaged and advantaged groups.

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University. I have completed my masters in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, and my bachelor's from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. My research interest lies in the field of growth and development economics. I am excited to interact with students and professors having a wider set of experiences in this field and hence, want to explore and acquire additional insights through this program.
