Samson Aklobo is a third year Ph.D. candidate in Macroeconomics at UQAM. In his thesis research, he intends to study firms’ R&D and technology adoption decisions, accounting for firm-specific human capital heterogeneity and technologies depreciation. He is interested in topics related to Innovation, Technology, Productivity and Economic Growth. He is a member of #communautéFRQ and an ESG UQAM Emerging Research Ambassador.

Ravinder is a doctoral student at the Economics and Planning Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi Centre. His research interests include Development Economics (empirical) in the fields of Education, Labor, and Rural Economy. Currently, he is working on the role of tertiary education in transforming the rural economy in India.

Ritika Sethi is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Economics at Rice University. Her research centers around modeling decision-making in the fields of labor and education. She holds an M.Sc. in Economics from University College London.

I am an Economics PhD student at the University of Houston. My research interest is in macro-finance and specifically on the impact of monetary policy on bond markets. My MPhil thesis at the Delhi School of Economics identified the impact of 'Operation Twist' by the Indian central bank on India's government securities' yield curve. I hold a Masters in Economics from the Symbiosis School of Economics and have worked as a researcher and assistant professor in the past. I hail from Kerala in India and enjoy biking and swimming.

Akanksha Aggarwal is a third year PhD student at the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi, India. Her research interests include Development Economics (empirical) with a focus on Economics of Education. Her current work seeks to understand the effect of teacher transfers in government schools in India on student learning. She holds a Master’s degree in Quantitative Economics from Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi, India and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.

Sila is a PhD economics student at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. His thesis focused on the nexus between firm productivity and innovation, and quality of institutions in developing
economies. Specifically, studies the role of electricity supply institutions and one stop shops for public service delivery in firm decisions and outcomes. Sila is also active in policy formulation where he helped establish public credit guarantee for small businesses at the National Treasury.

My name is Karla Savina and I am a third-year Ph.D. student studying finance at The University of Texas at El Paso. Since 2015 I have also been teaching at El Paso Community College where I work with a diverse group of students including international students that cross the border every day from Juarez, Mexico to attend school. I am passionate about inclusion and learning and hope to inspire and encourage other minorities to pursue a pathway that will allow them to grow and develop their human capital to gain the skillset for a successful and empowering professional career.

Ann Mary Varghese is a Ph.D. candidate at Vinod Gupta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Ann's research is on the domains of Applied Microeconomics, Transport Economics, and Energy Economics. Ann works on the Technology Adoption of New Energy Vehicles in Developing Economies. Having completed her MPhil in Economics, Ann has work experience at firms like McKinsey & Co., and Dohwa Engineering Co Ltd.

Shagufta teaches economics courses at IBA and regularly writes in newspapers. She has worked at OICCI as senior researcher and at CBER (IBA). She has been part of several research projects including development of Shadow Budget for Sindh government, National Initiative for SDGs, Sindh Tax Revenue Mobilization Plan etc. Shagufta has contributed a chapter in each of the two e-books on the impact of COVID-19 on the Pakistani economy and has provided assistance in the e-book “Policy response during challenging times". She is currently co-authoring book "Development Pathways".
