Oloyede Waliyat

Oloyede Waliyat teaches at the University of Ilorin in Nigeria's Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management. She is a South African graduate student studying agricultural economics at the University of Pretoria. She graduated from Birmingham, United Kingdom, with an MSc in Development Management (Public Economic Management & Finance). In order to pursue a second Master's degree in Agricultural Economics at the University of Ilorin in Nigeria, she also acquired a research funding from the Africa Rice/National Cereals Research Institute (NCRI). The European Union's Innofood Africa project is the subject of her PhD dissertation. She was granted a PhD research grant by AERC. She has also benefited from Oxford, United Kingdom's Young Scholars Matchmaking Workshop. Her career goals are to carry out relevant research and be one of the primary policy drivers for sustainable food systems. Hence, her research interest includes agricultural economics, development economics, food and nutrition policy, resource and environmental economics. She is passionate about econometric data analysis and has independently prepared and published several journal articles by journal outlets both locally and internationally. She has presented some of her papers at international conferences including the Annual Conference of the Agricultural Economics Society and Agricultural Economics Society of South Africa.
