Xueshi Wang is a rising third-year Ph.D. student in the Economics program at Michigan State University. Growing up with a twin brother in a traditional Chinese family in a paternalism society, she starts to observe the differential treatment she receives from her father at an early age. After entering the Ph.D. program, she became more attuned to observing injustice in society. She feels passionate about tackling inequality and gender-related social issues through the lens of economics. She is particularly interested in women’s reproductive health and children’s health. Conducting research that ultimately lightens the burden of childbearing for all women has always piqued her interest.
