Francine D. Blau is the Frances Perkins Professor of Industrial and Labor Relations and Professor of Economics at Cornell University and a Research Associate of the NBER. She has served as Vice President of the American Economic Association; President of the Society of Labor Economists, the Labor and Employment Relations Association, and the Midwest Economics Association; and Chair of the AEA Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession (CSWEP). She is a Distinguished Fellow of the AEA, and a recipient of the IZA Prize in labor economics; the Jacob Mincer Award from SOLE; and the Carolyn Shaw Bell Award from CSWEP. She has written extensively on gender issues and inequality
