I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Pittsburgh.

My research focuses on public economics and development, specifically the equity of transfers and taxes and the process through which fiscal capacity and governance jointly develop. I also focus on the organization of bureaucracies and labor market frictions that constrain firms' decisionmaking and growth.

I received my PhD from Harvard University and before worked at Innovations for Poverty Action and Evidence for Policy Design
