Bharat is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, India. His research interests lie in health economics and applied microeconomics. His dissertation explores how labor market conditions and environmental factors influence healthcare utilization and health outcomes. More broadly, he uses large administrative and survey datasets and applies econometric methods to evaluate factors influencing health and welfare outcomes and to generate evidence to inform policies aimed at improving them. Prior to joining the Ph.D. program, Bharat completed his M.A. in Economics from the University of Hyderabad.
