Margarita is currently a final-year Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Economics at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests include Energy, Environment, Development, & Health Economics. In her job market paper, she evaluates the impact of emerging decentralized green technologies, specifically solar mini-grids, on human capital accumulation & energy access. Additionally, she studies the broader impacts of regulatory policies on public health & behavior, as well as the social costs of pollution & natural disasters. Her earlier work also examined the effects of alcohol control policies on child health & behavior, highlighting the broader implications of substance access regulations.
