Pragya Jain is a PhD candidate in the Department of Economics at the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. Her research interests lie in macroeconomics, demographic economics, and economic development, with a focus on dynamic macroeconomic modelling and quantitative analysis.

Her doctoral research develops overlapping generations (OLG) models with endogenous fertility to examine the interplay between demographic transition, human capital formation, and long-run economic growth. Using dynamic macroeconomic models and numerical simulations, she studies how investments in education shape the demographic dividend and influence development outcomes in emerging and developing economies.

In one of the projects, she investigates the role of human capital in mitigating the natural resource curse. By incorporating endogenous fertility and human capital accumulation into a dynamic macroeconomic framework, she examines the conditions under which resource-rich economies can transform natural resource wealth into sustained economic prosperity.

Her work seeks to generate policy-relevant insights on demographic change, education, and long-run economic development through rigorous macroeconomic modelling.
