Richa is a first-year PhD student in the Department of Economic Sciences at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal. Her research interests include development economics, gender economics, health economics, labor economics, and institutional economics.

She holds an M.A. in Economics with first-class distinction from the University of Hyderabad, where her dissertation combined a primary household-level survey with econometric analysis to study unpaid care work among women in Bihar. Before joining IISER Bhopal, she worked as an Academic Associate at IIM Bangalore and as a Research Assistant at RIS (Research and Information System for Developing Countries), a think tank under India’s Ministry of External Affairs. These experiences strengthened her interest in rigorous, policy-relevant research and collaborative scholarship.

Richa is excited to be part of the AMIE community and looks forward to learning from mentors and fellow researchers while also building meaningful academic collaborations.
