Wasiu Akintunde

Wasiu Akintunde is a PhD candidate in Quantitative Economics at Texas Tech University, where he also serves as an instructor for Principles of Economics. Wasiu is a recipient of the GLASSNET/National Science Foundation AccelNet Early Career Research Travel Award and the Texas Tech University 2025 Student International Research Award. He currently serves as a GLASSNET Ambassador, supporting international and interdisciplinary research collaborations aimed at addressing complex environmental and societal challenges. His work seeks to inform evidence-based policy solutions that promote sustainable and resilient economic development.

His research focuses on applied microeconomics, causal inference, energy economics, and computable general equilibrium (CGE) models to evaluate the economic implications of energy transitions, environmental policies and industrial organization.
