Bhabesh Hazarika is an Economist at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP), New Delhi and Program Advisor and Adjunct Faculty at Birangana Sati Sadhani State University, Assam. Earlier he had worked as Assistant Director in the 16th Finance Commission of India. His research interests include public finance, fiscal federalism, governance, health and development economics. He is particularly interested in translating rigorous research into policy. He has published in leading peer reviewed journals and has been involved in policy and research projects for a number of government institutions in India. He is especially interested in supporting early-career researchers from developing countries and promoting greater diversity and inclusion in the economics profession.
