Hosam Ibrahim is an applied microeconomist and Research Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney, Hiswork focuses on development economics, education policy, labor markets, agriculture, and evidence-based policymaking. He holds a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota and has more than a decade of experience working across academic research, international development, and policy evaluation. His research uses large-scale data and rigorous quantitative methods to study how public policies and natural resource shocks affect households, schools, labor markets, and vulnerable communities. Hosam is especially interested in mentoring early-career researchers and students navigating graduate school, applied economics, international development, and the academic job market.
